60-Day JAIIB Study Plan for May and November 2026
Preparing for JAIIB while managing your daily banking job is no small task. Between customer queries, branch targets, and end-of-day reconciliations, finding time to sit with a book feels like its own challenge. That's exactly why having a structured, day-by-day study plan makes such a big difference it removes the guesswork and lets you focus entirely on learning.
Whether you're targeting the May 2026 JAIIB exam (3rd, 9th, 10th & 17th May) or planning ahead for the November 2026 cycle (1st, 22nd, 28th & 29th November), this 60-day plan by MyOnlinePrep is built around how working bankers actually study - in short, focused sessions that fit around a full-time job.
What Makes This Study Plan Different
Most study plans dump a syllabus list on you and call it a day. This one doesn't. The 60-day JAIIB Study Plan 2026 breaks each subject into chapter-level daily tasks, tells you what to prioritize, and flags the topics that consistently show up in the exam. You won't waste time studying things that rarely appear while skipping what actually matters.
The plan covers all four JAIIB papers:
- Indian Economy & Indian Financial System (IEIFS)
- Principles & Practices of Banking (PPB)
- Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers (AFM)
- Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM)
Each subject gets its own dedicated block of days, with built-in revision time at the end so you're not cramming everything in the last week.

For November 2026 candidates: Registration opens 1st August 2026. Use this time to start building your base knowledge well ahead of the window.
How to Use This JAIIB Study Plan 2026
The plan is designed for a daily commitment of 3 to 4 hours. For most working bankers, that means a couple of hours in the morning before your shift, and an hour or so in the evening. You don't need an entire weekend blocked out - just consistency.
A few things that will help you get the most out of it:
Use Sundays for revision, not new chapters. Every Sunday in the plan is a review day. Go back over the week's topics, re-read anything that didn't click, and test yourself with MCQs before moving forward.
Don't skip mock tests. Reading chapters alone won't be enough. After every major topic, the plan directs you to attempt related mock tests on MyOnlinePrep. This is where you'll catch gaps you didn't know existed.
Fell behind? Don't panic - use weekends to catch up. Life happens. If a week gets busy at work, use Saturday to cover any missed days rather than abandoning the plan entirely.
Lean on video lessons when a concept isn't landing. Some topics — like NPA classification in AFM or monetary policy mechanisms in IEIFS — are notoriously dry on paper. MyOnlinePrep's video lessons break these down in a way that actually sticks.
Week-by-Week Breakdown - JAIIB Study Plan 2026
Weeks 1–2: Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers (AFM)
AFM trips up a lot of candidates because it mixes accounting theory with practical banking scenarios. Starting here, when your mind is fresh, gives you the best shot at building a solid foundation before the harder conceptual layers come in.
You'll begin with basic accounting principles, the structure of financial statements, and how balance sheets work in a banking context. By the end of week two, the plan takes you through capital budgeting, ratio analysis, and an introduction to taxation as it applies to banking businesses. These topics carry significant weight in the paper, so don't rush through them.
Focus areas: Trial Balance, P&L statements, Cash Flow statements, NPA provisioning norms, Capital Adequacy (Basel norms), and Depreciation methods.
Weeks 3–4: Principles & Practices of Banking (PPB)
PPB is the paper most bankers feel they should know — after all, it's what they do every day. But the exam tests you on the regulatory and legal framework behind everyday banking, which is a different skill from doing the job.
These two weeks cover the banker-customer relationship, types of deposits and loans, negotiable instruments, and the legal aspects of lending. The plan specifically flags sections like cheque crossing, garnishee orders, and priority sector lending because these show up in the exam with surprising regularity.
Focus areas: Banker-customer relationship, types of customers (minor, HUF, partnership, company accounts), loans and advances, DRT and SARFAESI Act, negotiable instruments, and KYC/AML norms.
Week 5: Retail Banking & Wealth Management (RBWM)
RBWM is one of the newer additions to the JAIIB syllabus and candidates often underestimate how much ground it covers. Week 5 dedicates focused time to retail products, digital banking channels, customer relationship management, and wealth management concepts like mutual funds, insurance, and portfolio basics.
The exam doesn't expect you to be a financial advisor — but it does test whether you understand how these products work and how banks distribute them. If you work in a branch that sells insurance or mutual funds, a lot of this will feel familiar. If not, the video lessons on MyOnlinePrep are especially useful here.
Focus areas: Retail asset and liability products, digital payment systems (UPI, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS), CRM in banking, mutual fund categories, insurance basics, and wealth management principles.
Weeks 6–7: Indian Economy & Indian Financial System (IEIFS)
IEIFS is broad, dynamic, and — for candidates who haven't studied economics since college — a bit intimidating at first. Weeks 6 and 7 are structured to move from macro-level concepts (GDP, inflation, monetary policy) down to the specifics of the Indian financial system — RBI's role, types of markets, and the regulatory framework that governs banking in India.
The plan is careful not to turn this into a general economics course. Every topic is filtered through the lens of what actually appears in JAIIB papers.
Focus areas: Indian economic planning and structure, monetary and fiscal policy, RBI functions, money and capital markets, financial inclusion, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA, and foreign exchange basics.
Week 8: Full Revision + Mock Tests
The final week isn't for learning new things — it's for locking in everything you've already covered. The plan moves through all four subjects in rapid revision mode: key formulas, definitions, regulatory numbers (like CRR, SLR, Repo Rate), and high-frequency MCQ areas.
By the end of week 8, you should have attempted at least two full-length mock tests for each paper. Use your scores not to judge yourself, but to identify which specific topics still need attention before exam day.
Tips to Stay on Track
Set a fixed study time every day. Willpower is unreliable; routine is not. Pick a slot — 6 AM to 8 AM, or 9 PM to 11 PM — and protect it.
Keep a "doubt list." When you read something you don't understand, write it down instead of stopping your session. Bring those doubts to the weekly revision Sunday or ask in MyOnlinePrep's expert support sessions.
Don't ignore the case studies. JAIIB 2026 increasingly features case-study-style questions, especially in PPB and AFM. Practicing these through mock tests is the best preparation.
Attempt the previous year papers. The pattern and language of JAIIB questions is distinct. The more familiar you are with how questions are framed, the less likely you are to misread something under exam pressure.
