JAIIB Revised Syllabus
The primary objective to revise the JAIIB course was to realign the syllabus in tune with the recent changes in the financial world, mainly in the banking sector, align with industry requirements and enable bankers to acquire a holistic and deep knowledge about the myriad challenges being faced by the banking and finance industry.
There are four papers in the JAIIB exam and each is compulsory to pass in order to get JAIIB certification. The four papers are:
- Paper 1: Indian Economy and Indian Financial System (IE & IFS)
- Paper 2: Principles and Practices of Banking (PPB)
- Paper 3: Accounting and Financial Management for Bankers (AFM)
- Paper 4: Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM)

An Overview of Indian Economy, Sectors of the Indian Economy, Economic Planning in India & NITI Aayog, Role of Priority Sector and MSME in the Indian Economy, Infrastructure including Social Infrastructure, Globalisation — Impact on India, Economic Reforms, Foreign Trade Policy, Foreign Investments and Economic Development, International Economic Organizations (World Bank, IMF, etc.), Climate Change, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Issues Facing Indian Economy.

JAIIB Passing Criteria 2026
The passing criteria under the revised JAIIB syllabus are as follows:
- Minimum marks to qualify in each paper of JAIIB is 50 out of 100
- Candidates securing at least 45 marks in each subject with an aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects in a single attempt will also be declared as having passed the examination
- There is NO NEGATIVE marking in the JAIIB exam
Timeline for Passing JAIIB
- A candidate will be given 5 attempts for completion of JAIIB exam within a maximum period of 3 years, whichever is earlier, from the date of first registration. These 5 attempts need not be consecutive.
- Candidates unable to pass within the stipulated 3 years or 5 attempts, whichever is earlier, will be required to re-enrol afresh. Such candidates will not be granted credit for subjects passed earlier.
- The time limit of 3 years or 5 attempts starts from the date of registration for the first attempt. Attempts are counted when the candidate applies for the exam, irrespective of whether they appear or not.

- Login with your user ID and password
- Fill in all the necessary details asked by IIBF
- Pay the application fee
- Complete the registration by submitting the form
November 2026 registration opens 1st August 2026. Register in the first window (1–7 Aug) to avoid the late fee.
