CAIIB Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must meet the following conditions:

1. The candidate must be a member of IIBF.

2. The candidate must have completed JAIIB or Part I of the Associate Examination.

3. The candidate’s IIBF membership subscription should not be in arrears.

Candidates should verify their qualification and membership status through their IIBF profile before applying.

There is no exemption from any compulsory or elective paper based on a prior academic or professional qualification.

CAIIB Compulsory and Elective Papers

Compulsory Papers

All candidates must pass the following four papers:

1. Advanced Bank Management

2. Bank Financial Management

3. Advanced Business & Financial Management

4. Banking Regulations and Business Laws

Elective Paper

Candidates must select one elective from:

• Rural Banking

• Human Resources Management

• Information Technology & Digital Banking

• Risk Management

• Central Banking

Candidates may choose an elective related to their present role or a banking vertical in which they want to work in the future.

IIBF permits candidates to change their elective in a subsequent attempt, subject to the applicable examination rules.

CAIIB Application Form 2026

The CAIIB application form must be submitted online through the official IIBF website during the notified registration period.

Candidates should not submit payment through an unofficial link, agent or third-party website.

Once the application window becomes active, candidates should:

1. Visit https://www.iibf.org.in/.

2. Open the examination or flagship-courses section.

3. Select CAIIB.

4. Log in using their IIBF membership credentials.

5. Verify their membership and JAIIB qualification details.

6. Select an elective paper.

7. Choose the examination medium.

8. Select the preferred examination centre.

9. Verify the compulsory papers displayed.

10. Pay the applicable examination fee.

11. Download the receipt and application confirmation.

Candidates should carefully check the selected elective, medium and examination centre before completing payment.

Information Required for CAIIB Registration

Candidates should keep the following information ready:

CAIIB Examination Fees

The CAIIB examination fees prescribed by IIBF are:

Convenience charges and applicable taxes are additional.

Candidates must register separately for every attempt. Additional charges may apply when registration is completed during a late-fee period.

The fee paid to IIBF is non-refundable and non-adjustable under the examination rules.

CAIIB Elective Examination Fee Clarification

IIBF also offers CAIIB electives as separate certificate examinations. The fee shown for that separate elective examination is ₹1,100 plus applicable taxes.

This should not be confused with the standard CAIIB first-attempt fee of ₹5,000, under which a candidate completes four compulsory papers and one selected elective.

CAIIB Exam Pattern

Some CAIIB subjects may contain numerical questions without answer options. Candidates may be required to calculate and enter the answer directly.

IIBF may vary the number of questions in a paper.

CAIIB Passing Criteria

A candidate can complete CAIIB under either of the following conditions:

• Secure at least 50 marks out of 100 in every paper; or

• Secure at least 45 marks in every paper and obtain an aggregate of at least 50% across all subjects in a single attempt.

Candidates can retain credit for papers already passed until the applicable time limit expires.

CAIIB Attempts and Time Limit

A candidate is allowed a maximum of five attempts to complete CAIIB within three years, whichever limit is reached first.

The five attempts need not be consecutive. However, an attempt is counted when the candidate applies for the examination, even if the candidate does not appear.

If the candidate does not complete CAIIB within five attempts or three years:

• Fresh enrolment will be required.

• Credits earned for previously passed papers will not be retained.

• The candidate will have to complete the examination under the rules applicable at the time of fresh enrolment.

CAIIB Examination Medium

Candidates may take the examination in English or Hindi. The selected medium must be specified while submitting the application.

IIBF does not ordinarily permit candidates to change the examination medium after registration.

CAIIB Admit Letter 2026

IIBF will make the CAIIB December 2026 admit letter available before the examination.

Registered candidates should check:

• Their IIBF candidate profile

• The official IIBF website

• Their registered email address

• SMS received on their registered mobile number

The admit letter should contain:

• Candidate’s name and membership details

• Compulsory and elective papers
